Communications between Students & Teachers

CT-based educator Dr. Timothy Leonard has been working in the field of education for more than 20 years. He obtained a bachelor of science in English at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, where he earned his Teaching Certificate for Middle Grades. In 2010, Timothy “TJ” Leonard earned an EdD from Western Connecticut State University. Since 2016, he has served as an Assistant Professor of Academic Literacy and Linguistics at Borough of Manhattan Community College.

With many classes now taking place online, staying in touch with students and making sure they are always on track can be challenging. The web-based Remind app allows professors to send text messages and in-app notifications to students. This makes reaching students easier. Students also have the option to reply to messages, which keeps the communication between professors and students open and ongoing.

The Remind web app also allows professors to reach students on their phones through push notifications instead of sending emails that students may not read right away. Along with messages, the app supports attachments and services such as survey apps, making it an easy solution for interacting with students in different ways.
